The Brandon-Evansville boys’ basketball beat Underwood in overtime on Thursday night, 80-70. “For a second time this week we needed overtime to get the win,” said B-E head coach Trent Hintermeister. “We did a better job tonight of competing for all 40 minutes. Again, we had different players step up and play some big minutes tonight in order for us to get the win.”
The Chargers made 50% (6-12) of their 3’s and hit 47.5% overall. They forced 26 Underwood turnovers which led to 30 points.
Micah Fuller (26 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 deflections, 2 blocks), Colton Breitkreutz (22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 steals) and Tanner Riedel (18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 deflections, 4 steals, 2 blocks) led Brandon-Evansville. Dustin Gillespie delivered 4 assists, 4 points, 3 deflections and 5 steals, and Hudson Saxton scored 8 points.
Hudson Risbrudt (20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 deflections, 1 steal), Ayden Olson (14 points, 3 assists, 3 deflections) and Daxton Risbrudt (11 points, 3 assists, 2 deflections, 2 blocks), Levi Wilson (8 points, 12 rebounds), Max Grove (7 points, 6 assists, 5 blocks, 2 steals) and Drew Evavold (6 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 blocks) all contributed for the Rockets.
Hudson Risbrudt scored his 1,000 career point in the game.

As a team the Rockets hit 49.1% of their field goal attempts and won the rebounding battle 37-24. Underwood also had 23 assists on 27 made baskets.
“First half we played a sound 18 minutes of defense, second half our defensive effort dropped down a couple notches, and we turned the ball over far too many times again tonight,” said Coach Shebeck. “We need to find more confidence on the court, and be more aggressive and physical on both ends of the court.”
Brandon-Evansville (10-7) will play at Battle Lake on Friday night.
Underwood (9-10) has a road game at Parkers Prairie on Friday.
