“This was a very back-and-forth game that produced multiple rallies, ties, and clutch hits for both teams,” stated Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “Just when it looked like we were going to pull away, the Panthers offense came to life and put crooked numbers on the scoreboard in the fifth and sixth innings.  Fortunately, we were able to answer their rally with a few runs of our own to keep it within striking distance heading to the last inning when we were able to score a couple runs on clutch hits by Kian Gackle and Jayden Hoidahl.”

Winning pitcher Brady Perleberg came on in relief to pitch the final three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs, while striking out four and walking one.  B-E had 13 hits on the day.  Riley Perleberg, Tyler Bitzan, Jayden Hoidahl and Titus Fuller joined White with multiple hit games.

“Getting three innings of shutout relief pitching from Brady was huge and Dezmond swung the bat very well today,” noted Coach Perleberg.  “Hopefully, we can carry the momentum from this game into our Tuesday matchup with Barnesville.”

Mason Boesl led a 10-hit attack for Parkers Prairie with a pair of singles and a triple. Zach Mrnak, Nolan Steidl and David Revering each had a pair of hits for the Panthers.

“The Chargers did a good job of putting the ball in play and our defense wasn’t lockdown as we allowed some unearned runs,” said Panthers Head Coach Derek Denny.  “JV and junior high teams were unable to play due to fields being wet after the rain, but we’re hopeful to make those games up for those kids.  We’re knocking at the door on several games this year, so we’re optimistic we will get some of these games down the stretch.”
