Parkers Prairie beat Brandon-Evansville in a Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball contest by a score of 61-40 on Tuesday night in Evansville.  The Panthers hit 45.5% of their field goal attempts and made all 9 of their free throws, while forcing 20 turnovers in the game.  B-E made only 31% of their shots and the Chargers were outscored 44-20 in the paint.

“I thought we played well in the first half. We had it at 27-21 with 2 minutes to go in the first half and let them go on a 6 point run to head into halftime,” reported Chargers Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We did a much better job containing their outside shooting (2-15). However, Micah Ahrens was a problem for us. He did whatever he wanted all night and controlled the game for Parkers Prairie.”

Ahrens led the Panthers with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.

Leaders for Brandon-Evansville were Kobe Reiland (10 points, 6 rebounds), Titus Fuller (7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) and Dezmond White (6 points).

“We look forward to playing another conference opponent on Friday night in Battle Lake,” added Hintermeister.  The Chargers are 4-6 on the season.

Parkers Prairie (7-2) will host Hillcrest in a LEC matchup on Friday night.
