“We knew it would be a tall task tonight playing without 3 of our top players (Grace Otto, EmmaLee Brethorst, and Mikenna Pattrin), but our effort kept us right in the game,” commented Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “To shoot 24% from the field including 1-22 from 3’s and still be competitive in this game is directly correlated to the girls never giving up and just continuing to play hard. You can’t ever overlook that element of always playing hard and competing even when shots aren’t going in. I’m proud of our team, and am confident we will find our shot again soon if we keep playing with effort and playing together.”
The Chargers were led by Bailey Schaefer with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 assists. Kaytlyn Pattrin added 7 points and 5 rebounds and Olivia Otto had 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
Brandon-Evansville (4-5) has a Little Eight Conference home game against Underwood on Thursday.
Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (7-3) plays at unbeaten Hancock (10-0) on Friday night.
