The Osakis Silverstreaks defeated Brandon-Evansville in a non-conference volleyball match on Tuesday night in Osakis, winning 3-1 (25-22, 28-30, 25-17, 25-20) over the Chargers.

“Coming into tonight we were hoping to take steps forward in the season,” said B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson. “We either stayed the same or took steps back.  I thought Grace Otto (9 digs) played a heck of a match, and so did Kylee Dingwall (5 digs, 3 kills, 11/12 serving, 2 ace serves). Both were asked to do more, and in most areas they did.  Neither were perfect but they made adjustments that made their team better.  It is not that the other players didn’t try, it was that everything seemed individualistic.  We tried too hard to be something we are not.  We had six players all playing separated, in the same games.  We had numerous errors that cost us.  Serving, defensive, attack, and communication errors plagued the flow of the match.  We had opportunities to capitalize on Osakis mistakes, but we didn’t. I know that coming into tomorrow and Thursday, and for the rest of the year, we will be better at the simple things.  It will be our focus.  We travel to Wheaton on Thursday and are looking to get back on track.”

Other statistical leaders for the Chargers were Bailey Schaefer (22 kills, 7 digs, 2 aces), Mikenna Pattrin (8 kills, 16/16 serving), Korrie Randt (31 set assists, 8 digs, 16/16 serving, 2 aces) and Gretchen Bredberg (14/14 serving, 1 ace).  Tyler Yeats was a perfect 7-for-7 on the serving line.
